Insight in Idaho

When we decided to open our psychology practice here in Boise, we knew we wanted to offer something both deeply human and genuinely useful. We’re not just therapists — we’re psychologists and psychoanalysts who believe that therapy should make your real life work better, not just give you a place to vent.

We both spent years training in psychoanalysis — the in-depth study of how the mind works and why we repeat certain patterns, even when we don’t mean to. But our work isn’t about lying on a couch for years while we analyze your dreams (unless you want to!). It’s about using what we know about the human mind to help you understand yourself, navigate relationships, and make meaningful, lasting changes in your everyday life.

And whether you’re in Boise, Coeur d’Alene, Twin Falls, or a small Idaho town miles from the nearest clinic, we’re here for you.

Our Approach: Depth Meets Practicality

Idaho is full of good, caring therapists — and that’s something to be proud of. What makes our work different is how we combine depth and practicality.

We don’t just treat surface-level symptoms like anxiety, stress, or depression; we help you uncover the patterns and internal conflicts that keep those symptoms alive. Once you understand what’s driving the struggle, real change becomes possible.

But we always keep it grounded. We talk about your life as it is — your work, your family, your financial stress, your Idaho routine. Insight only matters if it helps you live better right now.

Down-to-Earth Care, Not Psychobabble

Our sessions are real conversations — straightforward, thoughtful, and genuinely focused on you.

People often tell us, “I’ve been to therapy before, but this feels different.” That’s because our psychoanalytic background helps us hear the things that aren’t always said out loud — the patterns that shape your relationships, moods, and choices. Once those become clear, we can work together to find new ways forward.

We believe in insight, but also in practicality. Sometimes that means learning to set boundaries, make tough decisions, or reconnect with parts of yourself you’ve neglected. Always, it means working toward a life that feels more meaningful and more your own.

Why Idaho

We chose Boise because it reflects so much of what we value: honesty, grit, and community. There’s a realness here — people work hard, care about their families, and try to do right by others. But even in a place as beautiful as Idaho, life can be stressful, isolating, or overwhelming at times.

That’s where therapy comes in. Whether you’re in the city or living hours away, our virtual sessions make it possible to get care that’s both personal and professional — without leaving your home. We’ve seen firsthand how powerful this work can be for Idaho residents from all walks of life: teachers, ranchers, parents, business owners, students, and everyone in between.

If You’re Considering Therapy

You don’t need to be in crisis to start. Maybe you’re stuck in the same arguments, or you feel disconnected, or life just feels flat. Whatever’s going on, we’ll meet you with curiosity, compassion, and respect — not quick fixes or one-size-fits-all advice.

If you’re looking for therapy that goes deeper, but still feels down-to-earth — whether in Boise or anywhere in Idaho — we’d be honored to work with you. We offer both in-person and virtual sessions, designed to fit your life and your goals.

Because real change starts with a real conversation.
